The focus is now on jobs and rural economy

There are going to be mid-term elections in the US in November. This means that the Prez will now embark on a campaign style tour of the Mid-West where the focus will be on jobs as well as other aspects like the US economy. This is quite understandable and at the same time, there have been some concerns in many quarters about the prospect of the factors. There are many who feel that not enough is being done on the jobs front because the thrust has been there on the stimulus package alone and not on other aspects. There have been allegations that the focus has gone from the jobs front long time back as it was hoped that the stimulus package would pump prime the economy and then would lead to more activity on the jobs front too.

There are indeed so many allegations as well as counter allegations on the way the current Administration is handling the financial and the economic crisis and this is due to the fact that jobs have not occupied pride of place in the economy. The unemployment rate has hovered around the 9.7% mark for quite some time now, which is not helping matters in any way
