Health care as being vital to the US economy

Talking about the US economy seems like a tale of woe in many ways. Nothing seems to be going right. The unemployment rate is as high as 10%. Exports are not rising as fast as they should. The global economic outlook is bleak, with Europe quite not stable. As far as health care is concerned, President Obama is convinced that it is vital to revive the US economy. The Us economy is in a ‘ditch’ and a lot of that has to do with the state of health care in the country. That is why Obama says that the situation is urgent, and everyone knows it. The problem is not with those who do not have health insurance alone. The problem is also with those who do have health insurance, which is quite worrying.

But the Republicans are not buying into the Democrats’ health care plan. They have dug in and are adamant that the Obama admin should start all over again. The Democrats feel that there is just no time to start all over, as health care for the common American cannot wait anymore. As it is, the US economy is the only Western country to provide free health care to all its citizens. And this is a shame, given the fact that the US prides itself as being the number one economy on the planet.
